| Natural Rubber-How Do
I know how natural it is? There is
a lot of confusion on natural rubber products. The biggest confusion is
"what does natural rubber mean"? Natural rubber can be used to designate any
product that has natural rubber in it. Blends of 60% synthetic are stated as
natural rubber (they do contain some natural rubber). Many companies claim
they have an ALL Natural Rubber. The only problem is many companies did not
test it to verify that it is indeed ALL NATURAL and CHEMICAL-FREE. We did
and this is what we found.
Our rubber used in our Dunlap process is
chemical-free. Only natural vegetable based soaps are used for washing. This
was tested by Latexco ( a third party agency) and another test for this year
is currently underway. We wanted to make Talalay Latex mattresses for an
additional choice but when Latex Internationaltm natural latex
was tested by Radium in Belgium it tested with chemicals. The people at
Latex International are honest that the latex does use a synthetic sulfur
accelerator-benzene derivative and regular soaps for washing. They also
stated that they have not yet tested this Talalay for chemicals. This
product may appeal to some people but we do not want to manufacture products
that are not 100% as natural as can be. There are plenty of synthetic blend
mattress companies out there.
Here is an email sent to me by the latex manufacturer
that sells to a competitor (not sure what your body can tolerate-mine does
not tolerate too much of any chemicals):Dear
Ginny Turner,
Received your mail regarding test result. The benzene
and Toluene are within the tolerance limit.

Our manufacturing facility is the only
company I know of that does testing and makes sure the products are as pure
as can be.
If you are unsure about a company's product just
ask them if they have had it tested. |
